Warranty Information
General Warranty Terms:
-
Mechanical Parts: 1-year warranty.
Covers any manufacturing defects or failures in mechanical components within the first year of use. -
Electrical and Water-Resistant Components: 90-day warranty.
Covers issues related to electrical components and water-resistant parts for the first 90 days. This includes any defects or malfunctions under normal operating conditions.
Chariot360 Brand Warranty Coverage
The Chariot Brand Warranty covers malfunctions of the following components:
-
Motor
-
Battery
-
Controller
-
LCD screen, dashboard, and controls
-
Throttle
-
Brakes
-
Suspension (in most cases)
This warranty covers only manufacturing defects. If a component fails due to improper use or external damage, the warranty will likely not apply.
Examples of Warranty Coverage:
-
If your Chariot is three months old, well-maintained, and one day it won’t power on, a valid warranty should cover repair or replacement of the defective component.
-
However, if you’ve modified the motor, overvolted the battery, or performed firmware hacks that result in error codes, the warranty will be void. Additionally, intentional misuse, such as riding in the rain or damaging the scooter’s deck and stem, would not be covered.
Most situations fall between these extremes, and while identifying the exact cause of damage may be difficult, Chariot uses industry expertise to assess claims accurately. Less reputable brands may resist valid warranty claims, but Chariot is committed to resolving issues fairly, provided the malfunction was not caused by misuse.
What the Chariot Warranty Does Not Cover:
In general, the following items are not covered under the Chariot warranty:
-
Flat tires
-
Wheels
-
Missing screws, nuts, or bolts
-
Physical damage to the deck, handlebar, or chassis
-
Wear-and-tear parts (fenders, rubber or plastic covers)
-
Surface or paint damage
-
Seat, basket, or other accessories
How to Claim Your Chariot Warranty:
To activate your Chariot warranty, purchase your scooter through an authorized retailer. Follow the assembly instructions in the manual carefully, and keep all packaging, warranty cards, and your receipt until the return period ends. If no warranty card is included, contact your retailer directly.
When making a claim, follow these steps:
-
Reach out to the Chariot customer support team through the designated channel (email, contact form, phone, etc.).
-
Provide a detailed description of the defect, including photos or videos, to help Chariot assess the problem.
-
Await further instructions, which may include guidance on repair or replacement. Shipping costs may be the customer’s responsibility, especially for non-functional returns.
What to Do If Your Warranty Claim Is Denied:
At Chariot, we strive to resolve all valid claims. However, if a claim is denied and you believe it’s unjustified, stay calm and persistent. Clear communication and explaining your circumstances can often resolve the issue. If necessary, you can refer to consumer protection laws for support.
When Is the Chariot Warranty Void?
Improper use can void the Chariot warranty. Specific guidelines are provided in the user manual, which vary by model. Common reasons for a voided warranty include:
-
Water Damage:
Water entering the battery compartment or other internal components can cause malfunction. Water damage is not covered under the Chariot warranty, even for water-resistant models. -
Modifications:
Altering the scooter, including rewinding the motor, overvolting the battery, or installing unsupported accessories, will void the warranty. Common modifications that void warranties include:-
Rewiring or overvolting
-
Installing non-compatible wheels
-
Modifying brakes or installing custom firmware
-
Minor adjustments, like brake tuning or adding decorative stickers, generally do not void the warranty.
-
Overloading:
Exceeding the Chariot’s weight limit or riding with two people may not immediately cause damage but can lead to long-term wear. Though it may be difficult for manufacturers to prove, overloading falls under improper use and can void the warranty. -
Incorrect Riding Practices:
Improper riding behaviors—like doing stunts, riding off curbs, or riding without both hands on the handlebars—can lead to damage that voids the warranty. The Chariot user manual outlines the proper riding techniques to avoid such damage.
Battery and Charger Warranty
Batteries and chargers typically have shorter warranty periods than other parts. The Chariot battery warranty lasts between 6 to 12 months, with the battery's lifespan naturally declining over time. After about 2 to 3 years or 300 to 500 charge cycles, the battery may need to be replaced, which is outside the scope of the warranty.
Return Policy
For returns, Chariot offers a 14- to 30-day return period, depending on the retailer. If the scooter arrives dead-on-arrival or malfunctions within the return period, one of the following options is available:
-
Free replacement of the faulty component.
-
Full refund or a replacement scooter.
Shipping costs for returns may be the customer’s responsibility, particularly if the return is for personal preference rather than a defect.
Commitment to Quality:
At Chariot360, we are committed to transparency and customer satisfaction. We strive to offer clear, fair warranty policies, ensuring you have confidence in your purchase. Whether you need a quick repair or a full replacement, Chariot360 is here to support you.
